[Recording of the Public Lecture]

Sergei Gukov is the John D. MacArthur Professor of Theoretical Physics and Mathematics at California Institute of Technology and a Senior Professor at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Study. A renowned scientist working at the interface between the two disciplines he made profound contributions to our understanding of the nature of fundamental interactions, the geometry of space-time as well as the classification of knots.

The Public Lecture is given in the context of the String Math 2023 conference which is held at the University of Melbourne. Being hosted in Australia for the first time, this international conference series brings together world-leading researchers from both physics and mathematics communities to discuss the latest scientific developments in String Theory, a promising candidate for the unification of quantum theory and Einstein's theory of general relativity.
